Mayor Phillip Burch is joined by Grammy’s House representatives, from left, Nancy Elrod, Pat Wood, Celina Bryant, Joyce Lloyd, Sheila Simer and Clara Mauritsen this morning at City Hall as he proclaims October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Artesia. The proclamation states communities “must continue to build alliances among governments, community associations, businesses, education and religious organizations to strengthen our families and teach alternatives to violence.”
