During the regularly scheduled Eddy County Commission meeting Tuesday, commissioners voted to allow Southwest Salt a right-of-way to place a pipeline along a county bridge that will potentially generate a small amount of annual revenue for the county.
“We will probably get some kind of right-of-way lease agreement that might make us a little annual income but we have not set a price yet. It’s a typical right-of-way deal,” Commissioner Lewis Derrick explained.
Derrick said the county is concerned for the safety of the pipeline and the county will insure it will not be held liable if anything happens to it.
