Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, at First Baptist Church for Shirleen Campbell Johnston of 1610 Sears Ave., Artesia.

Johnston, 84, passed away Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at San Pedro Nursing Center.

Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services, with interment to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons Cole Johnston, Stuart Johnston, Stephen Johnston and Lance Atkins, and friends Jerry Terpening and Steve Willard.

Visitation began at 10 a.m. today at Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Shirleen was born Jan. 3, 1932, in Fletcher, Okla., the daughter of Idris O. and Wouida Waid Campbell.

On May 28, 1949, she married Warren T. Johnston in Albuquerque, and the couple came to Artesia in 1950 from Farmington.

She was a 1950 graduate of Farmington High School. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include sons W. Dee Johnston and wife Ann of North Richland Hills, Texas, and Ronald D. Johnston and wife Tammy of Artesia; grandchildren Haley Conard and husband Jess, Cole Johnston and wife Stephanie, Leslie Atkins and husband Lance, Stuart Johnston and wife Kyla, Stephen Johnston and wife Marivel, Allyson Roesch and husband Whit, Amy Dyas, and Adam Dyas; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Johnston, on Nov. 17, 2008; her parents; daughters Karen Denise Johnston and Donna Fay Dyas; and brothers Thomas Eugene Campbell, Glenn Nelson Campbell and Larry Waid Campbell.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church, 322 W. Grand Ave., Artesia, N.M., 88210
