Santa Claus to arrive, shops to stay open late for downtown event

It’s time, once again, to set up the Christmas tree, dust off the decorations and most importantly get those Christmas wish lists ready, because Santa Claus will be arriving in Artesia Thursday night.

Santa’s arrival will be the kick-off of the annual Light up Artesia event being held Thursday, Dec. 1.

The Light up Artesia festivities mark the start of the holiday season and are designed to encourage Artesians to shop locally through the Shop Artesia Program.

The Shop Artesia Program offers incentives to shopping in Artesia by providing shoppers with the opportunity to win Chamber Bucks every time they shop at an Artesia store. During the holiday season, for every $50 shoppers spend at local stores, they are given a chance to win Chamber Bucks from the Artesia Chamber of Commerce. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
