ARTESIA — Kenneth Randall, CEO of Artesia General Hospital, is pleased to announce that AGH has been awarded reaccreditation by the Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) based on the results of a recent onsite inspection.

The AGH laboratory’s medical director, Dr. Sanjay Lahiri, and laboratory clinical directors Beth Mursch and Peter Grimm, as well as Carlos Pounce, director of respiratory therapy, were recently advised of this national recognition and congratulated for the excellence of the services being provided.

Artesia General Hospital’s laboratory is one of only 7,000 CAP-accredited laboratories worldwide and the only hospital laboratory so certified in the region.

The CAP Laboratory Accreditation program – begun in the early 1960s – is recognized by the federal government as being equal to or more stringent than the government’s own inspection program.
