Above, Sam Jones, readjustment counseling technician with the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (USDVA), stands in front of a Mobile Vet Center Saturday at Stand Down, an event to help homeless veterans, held at Legacy Inn and Suites. Mobile Vet Centers are vehicles closely resembling RVs that tour the country to provide veterans with immediate treatment and resources, such as counseling for post-traumatic stress disorder and military sexual trauma. For more information about the USDVA and the Mobile Vet Center, visit www.vetcenter.va.gov. At right, members of the Disabled American Veterans – treasurer Mike Schneider, commander Julio Perez and senior vice commander Danny Carroll – prepare their booth. The DAV provided information about free resources of which veterans are able to take advantage.
