Officials provide answers, more questions raised

The City of Artesia and Eddy County hosted a town hall meeting Thursday at the First Baptist Church Total Life Center, with members of both sides of the immigration debate voicing their questions and thoughts to local officials and representatives of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) on ICE’s temporary detention facility for undocumented women with children at the FLETC.
Artesia Mayor Phillip Burch led a panel that consisted of FLETC Director Terry Todd, National FLETC Director Connie Patrick, ICE Director of Operations Phillip Miller, ICE Chief Medical Official John Kramer, Eddy County Manager Rick Rudometkin, Eddy County Sheriff Scott London, Artesia Chief of Police Don Raley, and Artesia Fire Chief J.D.
