The New Mexico Department of Transportation will resume work on Artesia’s U.S. 82 bridge this month.
The NMDOT will continue to make repairs and upgrades to the bridge, located across from Fenn’s Country Market near the intersection of 20th and Main streets, beginning Monday, March 21.
Work will include structural steel repairs, abutment repairs, cleaning and coating of the structural steel and abutments, and bridge approach reconstruction. Construction is expected to be complete by the end of the month, weather permitting.
Motorists are asked to be aware single-lane closures with 11-foot width restrictions will be in place through the duration of the project.
