A Tuesday shooting that resulted in the property damage of two vehicles is currently being investigated by the New Mexico State Police.

According to the incident report from the morning in question, Artesia Police Department officers were dispatched to the intersection of 12th Street and Chisum Avenue at approximately 3:30 a.m. in reference to shots fired.

While no injuries were reported in the incident, two vehicles in the same area sustained damage from the shots. Sgt. Lindell Smith of the APD indicated that the two victims’ only connection to one another was that they lived in the same area.
