Aspiring young actors and actresses should mark Monday, June 6, on their calendars as registration begins that day for youth theatre events at the Ocotillo Performing Arts Center.

Children ages 5 and up may register for Missoula Children’s Theatre’s annual visit to Artesia. The Missoula, Mont.-based theatre group will this year be presenting “The Jungle Book.”

Rehearsals are scheduled for June 13-18 with performances at 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday, June 18. Cost is $55 and includes a t-shirt, “Love Note,” two free performance tickets, and lunch for all participants Friday and Saturday.

Children 7 and up may also register for the Fifth Annual Rising Stars Summer Musical, “The Wizard of Oz, Young Performers’ Edition.” Rehearsals for that production will begin June 20 with performances slated for July 15-16.

Cost is $100 and includes a t-shirt, “Love Note,” two free performance tickets, and a meal for each participant on each performance day.

To register, visit the Ocotillo Performing Arts Center box office or contact Lauren Austin, OPAC education director, at 746-4212 or lauren@artesiaartscouncil.com.
