Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11, at Terpening & Son Chapel for Billie Louise Arnold of Artesia.

Arnold, 85, passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at her home.

Jason Kraft will officiate at the services, with interment to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Billy Drake, Floyd Hall, Theron Coleman, Kenny Hartwich, Dan Coleman and Eddie Wallace.

Billie was born March 16, 1930, in Milnesand, N.M., the daughter of Charles H. and Clara L. (Wallace) Hemby. She came to Artesia the last time in 2004 from Ruidoso.

On Jan. 4, 1968, she married Billy Arnold in Okinawa, Japan.

She was a receptionist and loved to spend time with her family. She also enjoyed travelling, dancing, country music, feeding birds and deer in Ruidoso, gardening, and working outside.

Survivors include her daughter, Anita Drake, of Artesia; grandchildren Daniel Coleman, Tamara Coleman, Billy Drake and Katelyn Drake; great-grandchildren Theron Coleman, McKenna Drake, Evelyn Drake and Emily Drake; sisters-in-law Donna Hemby, Katherine Hemby and Eileen Vann; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Arnold, in 1972; daughter Debra Coleman; grandsons Joseph M. Drake and Steven Farley; brothers Clyde and Jack Hemby; and son-in-law James D. Drake.
