CARLSBAD — The Eddy County Commission was unable to add discussion on the rescheduling of its postponed Hold Harmless Gross Receipts Tax (GRT) public hearing to the agenda at Tuesday’s regular meeting, meaning a special meeting will need to be scheduled next week to determine the new date.

Commissioners reported the item did not fall under the category of emergency business, the only area of the agenda to which a last-second discussion could have been added.

The commission will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, to schedule the hearing and special meeting.
