Living Desert Zoo and Gardens State Park in Carlsbad has spent this week observing National Environmental Education Week. Michael Salmon of the U.S. Forest Service is the main coordinator for the program and is pleased with the presenters at this year’s event.
The program has been teaching students in Eddy County about varying aspects of the environment in the area. Fifth-grade students from the Artesia Public Schools along with other fifth-graders in the county have been a part of the program, participating in different learning stations at the zoo. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
