Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30, for Glenn Ross McCullar of 36 S. Espuela Road, Artesia.

McCullar, 45, passed away Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, in Andrews, Texas.

Cremation will take place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

McCullar was born Oct. 26, 1970, in Yuba City, Calif., the son of Bucky McCullar and Viola Mae (Clark) McCullar. He came to the Artesia area in 2000 from Benson, Ariz.

On Oct. 26, 1993, he married Kerry Hill in Benson.

He was a member of the Assembly of God.

McCullar was a master welder. He began welding as a young boy and helped build the Biosphere in Oracle, Ariz. He built fuel storage tanks all over the United States and welded in the oilfields in New Mexico and Texas.

He played a huge role in helping numerous kids get a start in the sport of rodeo. He loved children, and they loved him. He served on several junior rodeo boards throughout New Mexico and on the New Mexico High School Rodeo Board as the steer wrestling director.

He was always giving a helping hand to anyone in need; he would give them the shirt off his back and buy them another one if needed. In his spare time, he loved brook trout fishing, team roping, stock contracting, and raising cattle. He had a great love for animals but, most importantly, spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Kerry McCullar, of Artesia; sons Preston Dee McCullar and Miles Glenn McCullar, both of Artesia; brothers Milton Brummett of Tucson, Ariz., Bucky Brummett of Porter, Texas, and Bucky Kid McCullar of Ft. Collins, Colo.; sister Becky Lou Cruz of Conroe, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary. Condolences may be expressed online at www.artesiafunerals.com.
