Services are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Michael Clifford Searan Jr. of Artesia.

Searan, 43, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016, in Artesia.

Fr. Martin Cornejo, OFM, will officiate at the services, with interment to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tommy O. Sanchez Jr., Carlos Martinez, Richard VanHorn, JJ Martinez, Joshua Ellis and Armanda Del La O Jr.

Michael was born Jan. 30, 1974, in Carlsbad to Michael Searan and Delma (McDonald) Sanchez. He was a lifelong Artesia resident.

On April 11, 2005, he married Kathleen Sprouse in Carlsbad. Michael was of the Catholic faith and worked several jobs in town but mostly did mechanical work. He enjoyed woodworking, listening to music, riding motorcycles, fishing, camping, and just being outdoors.

Survivors include his father, Michael Searan, and wife Vickie of Artesia; mother Delma Sanchez and husband Tommy of Artesia; daughter Crystal Dawn Searan of Artesia; sons Michael Searan III and Leon Manuel Searan, both of Artesia; sisters Delma Ellis, Becky Jackson and Salena VanHorn, all of Carlsbad; brothers Tommy Sanchez Jr. of Carlsbad and Daniel McDonald of Artesia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and brother LeRoy Searan.
