The sky was a hazy shade of brown above Artesia at various points throughout the day Tuesday due to high winds in the area. Above, dirt fills the air on Texas Avenue looking east Tuesday afternoon. According to the National Weather Service, steady winds of 40 mph were blowing mid-afternoon, with gusts as high as 61 mph. High winds — and high temperatures — are unfortunately in the forecast again for Memorial Day weekend. (Martin Green – For the Daily Press)
