TO THE EDITOR:
The Artesia Historical Museum and Art Center is watching the dust settle after three back-to-back-to-back events, and we have some thank-yous to convey.
Our Día de los Muertos/Day of the Dead celebration was a smash success this year, and we broke new attendance records here! We want to thank PVT for donating bottled water for everyone — Penny Lamb and Athena Valdez were very helpful. We also want to acknowledge the support of the City of Artesia and our own museum’s foundation, and thank our organization partners: Artesia MainStreet (Elisabeth Jackson), Artesia Public Library (Erin Loveland), and the Artesia Arts Council (Laurie Schotz and company).
We had some VERY talented student photographers documenting our events, thanks to their teacher, Jennifer Duff: Taylor Henry, Autumn Baine, Blanca Reyes, and Heath Cosper — thank you all so much!
The Roswell Museum and Art Center has loaned us some very special art for “Honoring Artesia’s Veterans” this year at no cost — if you haven’t made it down here to view Howard Cook’s WWII artwork, you have until Nov. 26.
So thank you yet again, Artesia — we appreciate your support!
P.S., we have a girl’s purse that was left behind at Día de los Muertos — it can be picked up at the museum.
