Memorial services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, July 22, at First Christian Church for Ruby Salazar Garcia of Artesia.
Garcia, 53, passed away July 15, 2016.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.
Ruby was born April 25, 1963, in San Francisco, Calif., to Bill and Donna (McGregor) Geis. She came to Artesia in 1982.
On Aug. 2, 2003, she married Jerry Garcia in Espanola.
Ruby was a beautician and massage therapist. She taught massage therapy and enjoyed gardening, travelling, drawing, ceramics, reading, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Garcia, of Artesia; mother Donna Salazar; daughters Natasha Zamarron and husband Daniel, Sarah Garcia and Savannah Garcia, all of Artesia; sisters Farro Salazar Miranda of Fremont, Calif., Socorro Salazar of Espanola, and Isolde Geis of Santa Rosa; brother Lucas Geis of Santa Rosa; and grandchildren Adrian, Aubriana and Anthony Zamarron, and Devin, Aries, Bella and Ezra Aguirre.
She was preceded in death by her father, William R. Geis III; stepfather Ross Salazar; and brother Rosendo Salazar.
