A vehicle carrying the remains of Artesia Municipal Judge Richard L. Martinez departs the Public Safety Complex on West Main Street Saturday afternoon, leading a procession that included members of Martinez’s family, representatives of all area law enforcement agencies, elected officials, and colleagues of the respected former Artesia Police Department commander and judge.

Many Artesians gathered along Main and First streets to pay their respects as the procession continued to the Carlsbad Cemetery, where Martinez was laid to rest.
