The Artesia Downtown Lions Club has announced the winners of its annual Peace Poster Contest.

The Downtown Lions, along with Lions clubs around the world, proudly sponsor the Lions International Peace Poster Contest each year. This art contest for children encourages young people worldwide to express their visions of peace. For more than 25 years, millions of children from more than 90 countries have participated in the contest.

Art students in Juli Newton’s art class at Zia Intermediate School took part in the local contest. First place went to Amanda Danellas, second place to Alexia Silva, and third place to Stephanie Bejarano. The winning local poster was submitted for the next level of judging.

The Artesia Downtown Lions Club would like to thank Zia, Newton, and the students for their participation and support of this contest.
