Ray Dale Havens

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at 1302 W. Hermosa Drive for Ray Dale Havens of Artesia.

Havens, 48, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018, in Artesia.

Ryan Harvey will officiate the service. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Ray Dale was born Oct. 6, 1969, in Alamogordo, the son of Patsy (Patterson) Box and Buddy Havens. He was a longtime Artesia resident.

Ray Dale was a passionate, loyal, kindhearted soul. He loved laughing with his family, two-stepping to a song, no matter where he was, teaching his juniors to hunt, and bucking broncs. He was truly an unforgettable man.

Survivors include daughters Marenna Havens and Kaelee Havens; grandson Kohlson Hall; mother Patsy Box and husband Daymond; father Buddy Havens and wife Mary; sisters Ranae Blackerby and husband Greg, and Rhonda Desrosiers and husband Ken; brother Wesley Havens; stepsister Chrissy Ward; stepbrother Stevie Ward; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
